Next week is Children's Mental Health Week. The theme for this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is: This is my Place. During Children’s Mental Health Week, we’ll be talking about how we can help everyone feel like they belong. We will learn from each other what makes us feel happy. We’ll learn how to be kind, include others, and make sure no one feels left out, because everyone deserves to feel like they have a place where they are accepted, cared for and loved.

Tuesday 10th February is Safer Internet Day. We have lots of resources on the website for parents to access in relation to this if you feel you need information and/or support.

Open Classrooms are being held on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February. Your child's classroom will be open from 3:15–3:45pm and they will be able to share their work from this term and classroom projects with you all. 

Friday 13th February is Wear Green Day to fundraise for NSPCC. The suggested donation is £1 which children can bring with them into school. 

School will close on Friday 13th February for half-term and reopen on Monday 23rd February, ready for the rest of the Spring Term!

"On the 3rd of April 2025, there was an in-school sports day, where children were learning new and fun games to play during break and lunchtime.

There were lots of different games, including: street racket, hula-hoops, speed stacking, jumping games and skipping games. 

The children had a brilliant time learning games that the adults organised. Altogether, this sports day was about building teamwork, friendship and getting to know people from all years and was not about who is the best." 

Our reception children have been keeping a close eye on our duckling eggs, which have now hatched - you can access our live webcam of them until Thursday (27th) via this link.

We have church trips this week for the Year 2 children to take part in some Easter activities, as well a EYFS Easter Messy Church morning in the gym next week.

Year 5 assemblies, a Year 6 tag rugby event and the PTA school disco are all being held this week, as well as a Team Sports Challenge morning next week.

All our staff here at Waterbeach Community Primary School wish you and your family a restful Easter break, full of joy, family time and chocolate!

We have lots to look forward to for the rest of the month, in the way of school trips for the Reception children, Year 2's and Year 3's; as well as History Off The Page for Year 1's and the Year 5 assemblies. 

During this week's assembly, Mr Lloyd will be discussing Ramadan with the children. We wish all our Muslim children and their families a peaceful month, full of togetherness and reflection. 

We look forward to the Year 3 assemblies next week that parents will receive an invite to, as well as the Year 5 Grafham Water trip.

It has been lovely to see everyone - new shoes, socks and jumpers as well as exciting stories of summer adventures.
