Day six
Really starting to climb up the country now!
Daily update for the LEJOG adventure.
Really starting to climb up the country now!
Day six.... a long day of 80 miles. From Clun to Runcorn.... through Cheshire and in and out of Wales. We saw some beautiful filling countryside, very affluent houses and lots of farm animals.
I have a very very sore knee... it has been throbbing all day. I am feeling a little bit despondent and concerned at the moment! I have had to have a sports massage, so let's keep every finger crossed that it works for tomorrow!!
I would just like to wish you all a very very happy holiday!! Thank you to Mrs Ogilvie for holding the fort in my absence!!
Most of all.... GOOD LUCK to my wonderful year 6 children! I will miss you all!
We set off from Monmouth with a few aches and pains this morning. My knees are feeling a little sore and my legs are heavy. However, after a few miles they loosened off and I started to get into the rhythm. Today was 58 miles of winding trails, looking through gateways over to hills and forests in the distance. There were smells of bracken, lavender and freshly cut grass along the way. The sun shone on our backs today as we visited some beautiful villages in Shropshire and Herefordshire. We rode through Hereford but the villages were so picturesque... you can see this on the picture above... that is a place called Woebly.... we thought it was Wobbly... because the old Tudor houses certainly were!!
The duck!! He has been travelling on my handlebars and has been up really steep hills. Facing into the wind as we have screamed our way down rapid descents. He even went flying off when I fell off my bike on Monday!! Good job he had his helmet on! 😊😊🐥🚴♀️
By the way the JOG distance is a little more than 23 miles!! 😂😂
This is a gradient map of Tuesday's ride. The sharp ups and downs are significant ascents and descents! No wonder I am a bit tired! 😊😱😂
A beautiful ruin of an old Cistercian Abbey... in Wales! After crossing the Severn Bridge we are now in Wales!
